When you are in search of a new 2-door car with muscle car style and performance, only the 2018 Dodge Challenger will do. While the current-generation of the Challenger has been with us since 2008, Dodge keeps updated and upgrading its modern muscle car with not only new performance and styling features, but new trim levels, models and powertrains. For 2018, Dodge has more surprises in store for driving enthusiasts who want to drive this high-powered and bold performance car.
First, there is an all-new Performance Handling package for 2018, now available on Challenger models equipped with the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8. The 2018 Challenger's Performance Handling boasts four-piston Brembo brakes and a tuned suspension to enhance cornering and braking performance. Red Brembo brake calipers are now optional on a number of the V8-equipped 2018 Challenger trims, and help further distinguish this bold performance car from its more subdued competition.
Drivers who opt for the Challenger GT and its all-wheel drive (AWD) system can pair the enhanced traction of power to all four wheels with available 19-inch wheels. Also for 2018, Challenger SXT, R/T, R/T Shaker and T/A trim levels feature a standard 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen display, complete with a backup camera. When equipped with the Super Track Pak package, the 2018 Challenger SXT Plus and R/T Plus trims are fitted with upgraded interiors, complete with Nappa leather and microsuede sport seats.
If you prefer your Challenger to have an exterior paint color that is as bold and aggressive as this muscle car's styling, then you will be happy to hear that F8 Green and IndiGO Blue exterior colors are offered (with late availability); the wild Plum Crazy and B5 Blue paint colors also back for 2018!
For 2018, Dodge has also added yet another model to the wide-ranging Challenger lineup: the 2018 Challenger SRT® Hellcat Widebody. This new take on the Challenger blends the 707-hp Challenger SRT Hellcat's stunning performance with the widebody styling of the SRT Hellcat's even wilder sibling, the Dodge Demon. With its widebody fender flares, the 2018 Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody is 3.5 inches wider than the standard Challenger body, and comes fitted with wide, 20x11-inch aluminum wheels, sporting fat, 305/35ZR20 Pirelli® All-Season Performance Tires.
With 16 Challenger variants to choose from for the 2018 model year, you are likely going to want to tour and test drive multiple Challenger trims before making your final purchase decision.
